Interviews: Venice Revive

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Symphonic Metalcore project Venice Revive from Israel. Check out the interview this amazing project.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out just like that?

During Covid-19, while everyone was on lockdown and there were no cars on the road, Venice had no boats or gondolas – And dolphins were sighted swimming in the canals! The name came to my mind immediately.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

My two favorite genres are Metalcore & Symphonic metal. There is a lot of power symphonic metal & symphonic deathcore around, but where is the symphonic metalcore? I just like creating what I would like to hear and hope people will like it too.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Find me 1, just 1 metalhead, who has just one favourite band! Because I personally can't think of just one. I can't really pick between Trivium, Orbit Culture, Bleed from Within & Make Them Suffer.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

I like to listen to music to feel things. Songs that go well with my mood, so I always read the lyrics and try to understand what the band members on the instruments were trying to convey with them. That’s what drives me too, I hope that people will come to my music to help them deal with whatever they're dealing it.

6. Where would you like to perform?

Everywhere, really, I'll go wherever the fans are. Of course, I dream big of large festivals and world tours, but you have got to focus on the fans.

7. Whom would you like to perform with?

Apart from the bands I mentioned, there are some modern metal acts who are exploding recently, would love to join them on shows and learn from them. Catch Your Breath, Until I wake & I Prevail are great examples.

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I remember stuttering the first time I even tried talking in front of people. Ultimately, confidence comes from experience. Practice A LOT before going on stage until you can play with your eyes closed at even 110% speed. You'll still make mistakes, first the confidence from the experience of playing your piece, then comes the experience of performing. You'll gain it with time, just keep doing your best.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

The first album was written somewhere around 2015, so you can hear all the classic metalcore influences like As I Lay Dying, Bullet for My Valentine, and such. For my second album, I'm trying to listen to and learn from as many modern acts as possible. Some that come to mind are the ones I mentioned above.

11. What do you think of our site?

I'm glad people like you exist, and I hope you know how I and all other bands appreciate you so much for just existing. Thank you for that.
