‘Misery’ is about an overbearing partner who just suffocates your life. ‘Myself Deceived’ tells the story of a man who converted religions to satisfy his partner, but now is struggling with that decision and coming to the conclusion he can’t keep living a façade for love.

‘To Know the Man’ is the internal struggle of someone who’s constantly let down and wonders what’s the point of it all.

‘Machines’ tells the story about someone close to you in a coma and deciding to pull the plug to free them from their state of purgatory ,and dealing with the aftermath (a very 90s theme).

The song has 2 parts, the prologue and epilogue. The prologue is an instrumental that is the first 2 and a half minutes and introduces the second half of the song; the epilogue.

We felt the prologue and epilogue were strong enough to stand on their own, so they are part of the release as separate songs; ‘Machines (Prologue)’ and ‘Machines (Epilogue)’ to allow fans to play them individually.
