Behind The Artworks: Desolator - Spirit Of Speed (2025)

The cover art for "Spirit of Speed" features our mascot - the Speed Killer Maniac, with his brain submerged in a dome of beer - a nod to the first song we wrote Beer Brain. We were on the way to a show and were talking about ideas, and we came up with the idea of our dude on a motorbike, pushing the limits of speed so much his skin is peeling off him. A full throttle path of destruction, which sums up the band nicely. We always go full tilt in shows, whether playing to a quarter-filled room or packed with maniacs, its the same to us. It's a theme throughout our music, something we are so passionate about we throw ourselves into it and worry about the details later! We commissioned Andrej (All Things Rotten) for it, his comic book style yet detailed approach was perfect for it. He'd worked with Toledo Steel, mates of ours, recently and I loved the cover he made Ravens last album. He added some nice touches and was great to work with, we highly recommend him!
