Interviews: MoD

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Heavy Rock/Doom Metal/Stoner Metal band MoD from the Netherlands. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Ha, the band name was made up by the very first singer, Three Vocalists and ten years later we are just kind of stuck with it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

For me, it is what comes out when I pick up the guitar and start singing.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Arno (the drummer) and I met in school where we studied to be AV-technicians and soon we started jamming. Years later I switched from being a sound engineer to being a cabinet maker and after a couple of internships I ended up at a company where I met Sammy.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Just one favourite band? That's hard! For me it is Led zeppelin oh and Deftones and also Kyuss and mastodon. Arno likes Metallica and Russian circles. Sammy is really in to Vola and doodleskader

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Other music especially live music inpire me to write the riffs, the lyrics are mostly based on my personal life. But there are some political ones too. About hope/cry for peace and environmental worries

6. Where was your last gig?

We played in Eindhoven a couple weeks back. But it's pretty hard to find gigs. So if you know a venue or pub send us a message!

7. Where would you like to act?

We would love to play some festivals especially in Germany and Belgium there are some nice smaller festivals and great atmosphere.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Ha of course any off the bands from question four!

9. Whom not?

Coldplay, but why should anyone.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I know Sammy was pretty scared the first couple gigs, I think every one gets a little nervous before a gig. You just have to keep on playing and try to have fun, you'll get used to it i think.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think it all starts with Kyuss but it really depends on the song. I think with knuckles to the creep it is combination of Monster Magnet and mastodon idk maybe a pinch of Alice in chains. Not that my vocals are anywhere near these gods.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

They asked us if we would decorate a ceiling tile for a pub in Belgium, of course we made a peace of art!

We love them of course!
