Behind The Scenes: Pamplemousse - More Beautiful Than Madonna (Official Video)

"More Beautiful Than Madonna is the opening track on the album.

 

It was composed very quickly when we were rehearsing at the Rockhal in Luxembourg: we spent several months without inspiration and without managing to write a single track, and then one day this idea came without warning.

 

We kept the energy of the first draft and structured the track around the original ideas. That's also why it's only 2 minutes long, because we didn't want to think too much about how to make it evolve, we wanted to keep it spontaneous and retain its initial energy. Sarah (drums) directed the video.

At the end of a concert, we met Isa, a very cool dancer who does voguing. After seeing her videos, we thought we'd ask her if she'd be interested in being in one of our clips, as we were fascinated by her charisma.

 

She sent us images of a performance in a swimming pool, which we found really surprising and offbeat.

Sarah worked on color and contrast, echoing the visual ambience of the record, and edited the clip by alternating images of Isa with royalty-free videos of swimmers.

 

The overall idea was to maintain a rhythmic and visual brutality, with a strong, imposing character.
