Interviews: Dead Within Days

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Dead Within Days from the USA. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out just like that?

We had a list of names and combined a couple of names to create this. We chose this one as it reflects on the temporary of life and trying to live your best life within the time you have.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal, especially melodic metal, speaks the most to us and feels natural when creating. It's the style most of us grew up with, and now trying to do it in our own modern way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all knew each other in a way, except our drummer, Anthony. Robert (guitar) and Tommy (bass) were in a band previously. Robert knew Matt (guitar) through mutual friends. Robert and Tommy's old band played with Joel's (vocals) old band. The 4 of us came together and it just felt right, and then found Anthony through our socials, and then we tried him out, and it instantly clicked.

Matt - August burns Red/in flames 1994-2011

Joel - Silverstein

Robert - Bullet for My Valentine

Tommy - The Dillinger Escape Plan / Cave in

Anthony - disembodied tyrant

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life is crazy, and we have so many things to say, which we express through music.

6. Where was your last gig?

Amityville music hall on Long island.

7. Where would you like to act?

Madison Square Garden.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Dethklok

9. Who not?

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Joel has. He was in middle school performing at a benefit concert at his school. He asked a senior if he had any advice, and he told him to lift your guitar in the air, and he did it and everyone cheered, so he suggests that!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Trivium, killswitch engage, lamb of God, Bullet For My Valentine, in flames

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Joel: My sweaty shirt after a performance.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have the best fans. They really show their support, and we always love seeing them at shows.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it's great what you do, giving so many bands from all over a spotlight and a chance to be seen and heard.

15. Something to add?

We do.... just a little bit about our story and message. We are metalcore, you wish you had heard of us sooner, while also demolishing the handicap stigmas of the world. Dead Within Days stands as a beacon of resilience and accessibility by converting life's hardships into art, and embracing the differences between us all and delivering a fresh dynamic, with a powerful message: To embrace the disarray of life and keep moving forward.
