Interviews: SeverTheBond

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/J-Rock project SeverTheBond from the USA. Check out the interview and enjoy the artist!.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out like that?

"SeverTheBond" is my motto in life. If someone around you brings you negativity, cut them off. No questions asked. It's also my favorite quote from the anime "Naruto". Sasuke was really going through it. Poor kid.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I've been a fan of metalcore for years; my childhood favorite bands were Killswitch Engage and The Devil Wears Prada. Also, being a fan of anime, the theme songs were my favorite part of the shows. So, combining metalcore and Jrock gives you "animetal" my signature SeverTheBond sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

As a solo artist, I've known myself for my entire life. Lol.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

My favorite bands are Killswitch Engage, The Devil Wears Prada & Suicide Silence.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

My inspiration for writing music comes from the story I base my music on. Each track is a chapter in the story.

6. Where was your last gig?

My last show was in Athens, Georgia, at this college coffee shop. The pit was crazy.

7. Where would you like to act?

If by acting you mean like legitimate acting, then I prefer YouTube skits, but being in a reality show would be fun too.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

I'd really like to do a song with Spiritbox. That colab would go crazy for sure.

9. Who not?

I'm pretty open to working with anyone.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Personally, I don't get stage fright, but I do get anxiety. Normally, I just use the restroom before I go on and focus on how much fun it's going to be to perform. Before I know it, it's showtime and everything goes white lol. The music takes over from there.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

My main inspirations are Killswitch Engage, anything Howard Jones does (Light The Torch/Sion), Lil Wayne, The Weeknd, Kelly Clarkson & Rose Falcon.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

People who follow me and see me in public don't really ask weird things; it's normally the timing that's weird. Like if I'm at work and you're asking me about Kyrie Irving, that's out of pocket lol.

13. What do you think of your fans?

My followers are extremely loyal and have followed me for a long time now. I appreciate them sticking around all this time. I'm sure the ride has been entertaining. The best is yet to come.
