Interviews: Witches Ride
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Dark Groove Metal band Witches Ride from the USA. Check out the interview and follow this band.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or come out just like that?
My plan was to start a small ladies' Motorcycle clothing line with the name Witches Ride, and it turned out that around the same time that I was starting the clothing line, the band was also starting. So the guys heard the name, and it just sounded perfect for the band.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
I have always wanted to play this style of music because anything that sounds like it could be a horror movie soundtrack is right up my alley. Getting there was another thing; it just took a long time to find the like-minded musicians who wanted to play this style.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
I actually knew the guy who was supposed to be our Bass player from a previous band that I used to tour with during my previous band's shows. He is the reason I met up with our Guitar player and previous drummer. Turns out that the Bass player never actually showed up, but it all worked out because we wrote a song that night with the guitar player he introduced me to, and we have not stopped playing together since.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Singer/ Sara: Siouxsie and the Banshees
Guitar Player/ Evo Mikey: Slipknot
Drums/ Bromden: Pink Floyd
Bass/Delmy: Korn
Keys/Toby- Muse
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Songs come to me all the time. Sometimes I'm driving, listening to music, or watching a movie. In the case of our current album, I wanted it to have a cohesive story behind it. The album tells a story of a preacher who lost his following and sold his soul to the Devil to get it back. I am constantly inspired by this crazy life.
6. Where was your last gig?
We just played at Container Park in Las Vegas, for Punk Rock Bowling On May 24th
7. Where would you like to act?
We would love to tour the world with our music. We just want to play everywhere.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We really like the bands Slipknot, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Korn. So playing with any of those would be a dream come true.
9. Who not?
Honestly, I don't really see us playing with someone like Taylor Swift.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
I feel like all of us at one time or another have had stage fright. I always just say you have to play each show like it's your last, and that snaps me out of it.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
I love all music from classical to hip hop to stuff like tribal trap music, or even obscure folk music. If it has a beat and good lyrics, I'm in. Some artists that have truly touched my life in music are Nina Simone, Otis Redding, Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Edith Piaf, Chris Cornell, Marilyn Manson, and Lady Gaga.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Hmm, I guess a signature on his ass.
13. What do you think of your fans?
I think we have such an amazing group of supporters, and I am forever grateful.
14. What do you think of our site?
I like the site, you include a great amount of information, and such a cool platform for artists
15. Something you'd like to add?
Thank you for your time and for getting to know Witches Ride. We are honored!
