Track By Tracks: PRIEST - CHAOS (2025)
1. World on a Wire:
We wanted to revive the 90s big beat sound (especially early Chemical Brothers) with this one. A genre we will explore more on the forthcoming album. The title is borrowed from Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s TV movie from the 70’s, which is about world simulations - just like The Matrix. The song asks the question of whether you will keep or change your moral code while entering a simulation. What if we already live in a simulation and so forth.. I personally think we should be the best version of ourselves, no matter if we’re IRL, online, or in a simulated world in another galaxy.
2. My Lonely Heart:
This is a baseline-driven track for the heartbroken, meant to shake dance floors in goth clubs.
3. Nukeface:
Is nuclear threat back in fashion? Nukeface is a character who obviously has the urge to spread a rather destructive message. In a world of hopelessness and lies, he sadly won’t have any problem getting followers.. The track is a very twisted homage to the Cold War-era and early EBM like D.A.F.
4. Tria Prima 3:
This is, of course, the third and last installment in the instrumental Tria Prima trilogy. It symbolizes the end of a journey and even the death of the character of Mercury 3 (the current Priest vocalist), whose lifespan soon will come to an end after this year’s touring. On our next full-length album, a new, heavily augmented model (Mercury 4) will take his place.
