Interviews: SELIAS

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Death Metal band SELIAS from Canada. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out like that?

The band first started years ago as a solo project. Since then, it's initial start - it's grown into a full band. The name kinda just stuck

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We've all been metal lovers our whole lives. We all appreciate the dynamics and versatility of singing and screaming. The synth tends to be from our influences, so when we added it all up, we got our sound

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We've all played in the scene - I would say more acquaintances - we formed the band, and became better friends

4. Each band member's favourite band?

In Flames, Dream Theatre, Insomnium, Rammstein, Cradle of Filth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We get inspiration from moments in our lives. We try to write with emotion and create an atmosphere around the feeling

6. Where was your last gig?

It was a metal festival on the East Coast of Nova Scotia, 2000km from home, during our tour

7. Where would you like to act?

We want to get to Europe and South America in 2025

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Lots of bands in our genre

9. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Sometimes, everyone has a bit of fear or anxiety from time to time. It will pass! 

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing is weird in this genre!

Greatest. Love talking about the music, relating to other stuff in life
