Behind The Tracks: One Last Day - Still Breathing (Single) (2025)
Still Breathing for us was our leap back into the game after a brief hiatus. We parted ways with our
previous vocalist, Alex Willox, who can be heard on the rest of our back catalog, in Autumn 2024. The band
had come a long way together, but our worlds had become misaligned, and it became clear that it would
be best for all parties to go in different directions.
We took a couple of months out, and at the start of 2025, we began working on new music together, along
with establishing what we wanted to do with regard to vocals on our music. The band decided ultimately
to look inwards with Huw picking up the torch and stepping up to do lead vocals for the first time.
Gareth had been working on the core of the song musically back in 202,4, and we came together to decide it
was the track we were going to work on to re-launch the band’s new era. Huw began working on vocals for
the track, and then collectively we worked on refining and shaping the song’s full form. We returned to the
studio to work with Meyrick de a Fuente to finalise the vocal production alongside mixing and mastering.
We have worked with Meyrick for a few years now, so we trust him completely, and his expertise helps us
ensure we are getting the most out of our creations.
The song itself is an anthem of perseverance, although the lyrics are centred around fighting through
mental health challenges, they can equally shine a light on the journey of the band. From time to time, we
can question what we hear and sometimes succumb to self doubt in the face of adversity. It’s very easy to
let these things become a prison of destructive thoughts and logic, but ultimately, we are still here, still
breathing. It’s up to us to keep pushing forward, and we will create a brighter future for the band (and
ourselves) by doing so.
The initial feedback on the new track and overall relaunch of the band has been highly positive. We hope
everyone out there enjoys the track and that people come with us on the journey; to keep fighting, keep
building, and hopefully continue to move from strength to strength.
