Interviews: NightCatcher

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Pop Rock band NightCatcher from Denmark. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

My wife and I were having some drinks on my imaginary balcony when I asked her what she thought could be a new band name for my 80s-style project. She said, “Something with the night,” since I always make music late at night. Then she suggested Nightstalker (I don’t think she knew about the serial killer). After that, she said, “Or, you know… Catch the Night!” So that’s how we got to Nightcatcher.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I’d had these ideas for a while, and I always wanted to do this at some point — then suddenly, I finally had the time. Now I think I’m going all in on this project. 

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

As a one-man project, I’ve known myself for quite a while… really nice guy. We’ve never had any arguments—well, maybe a little sexual tension, but nothing serious! As long as we keep sharing the same ideas, I think we’ll stick together in Nightcatcher.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Megadeth

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

Mostly my bandmates

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Copenhagen, but with my other band, The KillerHertz. No live shows with Nightcatcher yet, but hopefully next year.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a summer with a festival slot? Even just being the smallest name on the poster — I wouldn’t mind at all. I’d love that.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield, and Jeff Walker!! 

9. Whom not?

Hmm, I don’t really know… because what if my least favorite singer or band asked me for a collaboration? I’d probably still say YES!!! At least in my situation right now… Maybe if I got a breakthrough with Nightcatcher, I’d think twice about it.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really, actually… none of us! Advice? Just have a few beers.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

My inspirations: Megadeth, Metallica, Carcass… if I had to make a top 3. As for Nightcatcher: not really any bands — more just the vibe of old movies.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for? 

Child support

13. What do you think of your fans?

If I have any fans, I fucking cherish them and I’m truly grateful.

14. What do you think of our site?

It’s a great site, and I’m happy I got to do this interview for it/with you.
