Interviews: Stormbreaker

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Metal/Power Metal band Stormbreaker from Finland. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? You planned it or came out like that?

The band name was a combination of many things; it symbolizes the idea of force or a person who can navigate through chaos and find a way to solve it. It's also a very fucking cool weapon in the Marvel Universe, haha. Most of all, it sounds very powerful, which provides a very good sound for our music!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Genre came from the heart. I think most of the members have a background in power metal and melodic metal, so this kind of fits our style also as musicians.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some people, yes, but I could say mostly we didn’t know each other that well; we knew only the musical skills.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Petri: Slipknot.

Anni: Dream Theater

Tomi: Pantera.

Sami: The Haunted.

Anssi: Napalm Death

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Petri likes to write music about real feelings and the surrounding world itself. Anni writes about more poetic stories, which can be based on real things.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was in our hometown Joensuu, in a restaurant called La Barre.

7. Where would you like to act?

We wanna go to Japan for sure!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We surely would like to collaborate with Finnish bioneers like Nightwish, Battle Beast, or Beast in Black, or Sonata Arctica. So many

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We have and still do. I wouldn’t wanna say there is a way to overcome it, if you lose your passion for the shows, then it´ll go too, but then what's the point?

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

So many to mention, but to name a few: Twilightning, Stratovarius, Children of Bodom, Pagan´s Mind, Sonata Arctica, Pantera, Nightwish, Amaranthe, Electric Callboy…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To have a child with her, and no kidding, it was weird.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The world, I mean, people come to see us perform and keep the dream alive for us.
