Track By Tracks: WitcheR - Öröklét (2025)
1.Örökség (Heritage):
“Örökség” is also the ars poetica of our new album. It perfectly summarizes the message of
the record: what one inherits must be cherished and never denied. Some receive a heavy cross
to bear, others a lighter one, but the bloodline is part of respecting tradition. We must never
forget where we came from. Musically, this song is a typically slow-flowing mood piece, in
which perhaps the influence of Summoning can be felt stronger than ever before.
2. Szélhozó (Windbringer):
The fastest WitcheR song to date, in which we further develop the message of the first track,
building upon the legend of the wind-bringing witches. The Windbringers were witches who
could conjure wind and storm. Perhaps one of the best choruses we have ever written can be
heard here.
3. Röghöz kötött (Soil-bound):
In our interpretation, being “bound to the soil” means being proud of our past and traditions,
clinging to them with tooth and nail, and not even the often misguided ideas of the modern
age can shake our faith. Listen to the voice of nature, for “the old oaks are telling past
stories.”
4. Öröklét (Eternity):
In the Hungarian language, “öröklét” (eternity) is a very special word that can be understood
in many ways. In our interpretation, it means that what we have received from our ancestors
must be carried forward and passed on — the knowledge, the traditions — to our descendants.
In this way, every human being can reach eternity. The speciality of the song is that you can
hear Karola's clean vocals on their own for the very first time.
5. Piano Trio No. 2 – Andante con moto (Franz Schubert cover):
It has become a tradition that every WitcheR album includes a classical music adaptation.
This time we chose this Schubert piece, because it shows so well that, with a bit of guitar and
drums and the right instrumentation, it can convey the very same atmosphere as a black metal
song.
