Behind The Tracks: BITE THE BOXER - Venom Test (Single) (2025)

The song came about really organically. You often hear artists say that a song “just happened”, this was one of those moments. I was playing with some sounds and all of a sudden everything snapped into focus and I could hear the main riff before I played it. It was distorted and nasty sounding then I put some beautiful choral voices under it and that juxtaposition reminded me of an abandoned building that I had recently been to where parts of it were absolutely destroyed. But, on the other side of a wall was a room that looked untouched by the damage caused by the elements. So I based the song around that idea of decimation and purity, side by side. I often write around dark themes, but also finding the comfort in accepting darkness, fear, destruction and even death. It's all just a part of life.
