Interviews: FALLING BELOW
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock band, FALLING BELOW, from the UK. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?
Alex: When we were working on our first EP, we struggled to find the right name — nothing seemed to stick. One day, Christo was listening to Periphery’s Heavy Heart, and the line ‘I’m falling below…’ really stood out to him. He pitched it to the rest of us, and it instantly clicked. It captured the vibe of our music and the themes we wanted to explore, so Falling Below was born.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Alex: We wanted to play this genre because it gives us the space to be completely real. Heavy music captures raw aggression and energy, but it also carries a lot of emotion and vulnerability. That balance between heaviness and melody is what drew us in. It lets us write songs that hit hard but also mean something deeper.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Alex: No, we didn’t know each other before the band came together. What brought us together was a shared passion for music and the drive to create something fresh. From the start, the connection felt natural, and it quickly grew into what the band is today.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Alex: Black stone cherry
Christo: Alter Bridge
Luke: Ice Nine Kills
Lloyd: Bring Me The Horizon
Ryan: Bad Wolves
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Alex: Inspiration can come from anywhere. Christo might hear some cool chords or layers in a new band and turn that into a musical idea, while I could take the same spark and build a lyrical or melodic concept around it. Other times, ideas just appear out of nowhere. We try to stay open to creativity in any form. And that approach has served us really well so far.
6. Where was your last gig?
Alex: Our last show was supporting Ashen Reach at The Giffard Arms in Wolverhampton. It sold out, and the energy was unreal. We can’t wait to bring that same vibe to our debut headline show next year.
7. Where would you like to play?
Alex: I like to aim high, so I’d love to one day have the opportunity to play a show at Wembley Stadium and the main stage at Download Festival.
Christo: Royal Albert Hall (with an orchestra, of course)
Luke: Download & Wacken Open Air Festival
Lloyd: Download / Slam Dunk Festivals
Ryan: Download & Bloodstock (played it back in 2019 in my previous band, Resin, and it was immense, so I would love to return!)
8. Who would you like to support?
Alex: I prevail
Christo: Avenged Sevenfold
Luke: Trivium/Ice Nine Kills/Polaris
Lloyd: Bring Me The Horizon/Bad Omens/Day Seeker
Ryan: PRESIDENT
9. Who not?
Alex: We’re always happy to support other bands as long as they’re good people, professional, and hardworking. Having support acts with a completely different sound or style can actually make a gig way more exciting, so we’re open to all kinds of lineups and down for most opportunities that come our way.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Alex: It’s a weird one for me, I never really get it to be, completely honest, I’m just happy that people have come out to a sho,w and I see it as a night with friends and family, keeping that in mind is what keeps me cool before hitting the stage.
Christo: When it’s been a while between gigs, I sometimes get those pre-show nerves. My best tips are to make sure you’re super rehearsed so you’re confident with your parts, then remember the crowd wants you to smash it, you’re doing it with your friends, and it’s all going to be fine. After the first few chords, those nerves tend to disappear.
Luke: I sometimes get it - but the best way to beat it is to just make sure you've practised your parts a lot and also try to play more gigs so you're confident in being in front of a crowd.
Lloyd: Similar to Christo - play more gigs! Cognitive behaviour therapy works.
Ryan: A stiff drink. Haha!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Alex: Bands like Whitesnake and Motley Crue are who inspired me the most growing up.
Christo: For me, I’d have to say Alter Bridge
Luke: There's a lot that inspires me, but a few of them are - Ice Nine Kills, Polaris, Alter Bridge, Trivium
Lloyd: Intervals
Ryan: TesseracT
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Alex: We had someone ask us for a signed photo once, which felt pretty strange at the time since we’re such a new band and the fan had only just discovered us. We were like, ‘Really? Us?’ But it was awesome and made us realise people are genuinely connecting with what we do.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Alex: Our fans mean everything to us. Without them, none of what we do would be possible. Every time someone comes to a show, streams a track, or even just shares our music with a friend, it reminds us why we put so much into this band. They’re not just listeners, they’re part of the journey with us.
14. What do you think of our site?
Alex: Overall, the site looks strong and really showcases the bands. Glad to be featured amongst them
15. Something to add?
Alex: Thanks again for having us. We'd just add that we’re really excited for what’s coming next. Our new song ‘Pieces’ is out now, and it’s the first track from our upcoming EP Holding Out For Hope, which releases in February (20.02.26). We also have our EP launch show next year (21.02.2026), at Rough Trade, in our hometown, and limited tickets are available now on Bandsintown or Dice.fm, so fans can grab them while they last!
