Interviews: Glaascats

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band, Glaascats, from Switzerland. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTRAGRAM PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

The band name doesn’t mean anything. Amelia found it in 2019 when the group was a duo. Maybe the 2 A for Amelia and Alexander.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

It’s what came naturally. Of course, we all have different music backgrounds and inspirations, yet it seems we are flowing in the same river of genre.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Amelia and I (Alexander) are siblings. We’ve known Jonathan since 2016, but didn’t start making music and growing our relationship till 2020.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Amelia: Big Thief

Jonathan: The Osees

Alexander: Beach House

5. Who, or what, inspires you to write songs?

Civilisation in itself is a big inspiration. Experiencing life and growing up. Nature plays an important role in our lives, bringing creativity and peace of mind.

6. Where was your last gig?

At the SuperSonic in Paris for the They’re Gonna Be Big festival.

7. Where would you like to perform?

Anywhere, as long as we can share an experience with the crowd.

8. Whom would you like to perform with?

Any of the mentioned above favorite bands, and more like Connan Mockasi,n for example

9. Whom not?

Anyone who doesn’t have respect for people and nature

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

The three of us all have a little fright before a gig, but it almost always dims once you get going. We like to meet backstage right before hopping on stage to relax, breathe, and shake our bodies.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think it would be Sonic Youth

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

An autograph. It’s not really weird, but still strange when you’re not used to it.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I cherish each one as a singular, beautiful being. They’re sweet and supportive.

14. What do you think of our site?

I find it great that you provide coverage for many bands.
