Interviews: PSYC 6
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Melodic Groove Metal band, PSYC 6, from Sweden. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Was it planned, or did it just happen organically?
I did not come to us organically. At first, we called ourselves Section 28, but there was some controversy behind that name, so we had to rethink. I, the singer, sat and just googled around and came across a university program called Psych 6 that was about human behaviour and why we act the way we do. We thought that it fitted with our music and lyrics, so we went with that name and changed it to PSYC 6 without the h.
2. Why did you choose to play this genre?
We love metal, and while rehearsing, the magic just happened, so we went with it.
3. Did you know each other before forming the band?
Some of us did, and some did not. Me (the singer), our rhythm guitarist and the drummer knew each other from before. Later on, our lead guitarist and bass player joined, and all was awesome.
4. What is each band member's favourite band?
Milo Singer: One of my favourite bands is Korn, but there are many others
Gabriel drummer: My pick has to be Bullet for My Valentine.
Jonatan Rhyth, guitarist: mine is Iron Maiden.
Roger Lead guitarist: It depends on my mood, but if we are talking about metal, we can't go wrong with Dream Theatre
Denuze Bassplayer: My Chemical Romance, The Used for me
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Everything that happens around us all the time inspires us to write our songs
6. Where was your last gig?
It was at a small venue called Oden in Karlskrona, Sweden.
7. Where would you like to perform in the future?
Wacken would be a dream come true.
8. Which artist or band would you like to collaborate with?
Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Korn, Slipknot and many many many more LOL.
9. Is there anyone you wouldn’t want to collaborate with?
We don't know many of the artists on a personal level to know if we would like to collaborate or not, but at the top of our head, Kanye West, P Diddy and R Kelly.
10 Have any of you ever experienced stage fright? Do you have any tips for beginners on overcoming it?
All of us have experienced it at some point; it's normal to feel it. Our tip is to just practice your set and know your songs. If you play wrong, just don't let it be shown, keep on rocking like nothing happened.
11. Which bands have influenced you the most?
Korn, Iron Maiden, Shinedown, Kiss, Lamb of God, Parkway Drive, Slipknot and many many many more.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Our setlist was autographed by the band.
13. What do you think of your fans?
We love them.
14 What do you think of our site?
We have looked around, and we like it. Good interviews and plenty of reading material about many artists.
15. Is there anything else you’d like to add?
Thank you for reaching out and giving us the opportunity to have this interview with you.
