Interviews: Suffering

On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Occult Black Metal band Suffering, from the UK. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

When the band was originally formed, it was just a straight DSBM band, so Suffering was the perfect choice.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Black metal has been my life since my early teens, both listening to and playing it. It's the only genre of music that captures and can portray the “otherworld” and pure negativity.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, none of us knew each other.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

S.F.I - Akercocke.

Aýdlig - Marduk.

Malleus - Electric Wizard.

Inquinatus - Dissection.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Satanism, the occult, life, human emotion and actions, and negativity.

6. Where was your last gig?

Early October in Bristol, supporting the legendary Psychonaut 4.

7. Where would you like to act?

We are happy to play anywhere. Would love to play around Europe and the US.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

That's a very long list, haha. Akercocke, Marduk, Triptykon, Mayhem, Cradle Of Filth, Deicide, to name a few.

9. Whom not?

Not enough time in the day for that answer. It's irrelevant anyway.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I did in the early day's but it doesn't really happen now unless it's a big gig.

Don't think about it and just do it. Simple as that. It's just in your head. Focus.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Marduk, Akercocke, Celtic Frost/Triptykon, Electric Wizard, Mayhem, Burzum, Shining, Lifelover, Silencer, Skitliv. That combination sums us up a lot.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Probably best not to write that here. There may be young readers haha.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Same as any bands thinks about their fans...

14. What do you think of our site?

I hadn't heard of it until being asked to do this interview.

15. Something to add?

Thank you for the questions and wanting to talk to us. For your readers: go pre-order our new album Things Seen But Always Hidden and support the cult. Released by Apocalyptic Witchcraft on the 28th of November.
