Track By Tracks: Solar Sons - Altitude (2025)

1. Sky High:

“Sky High” is the intro sequence that opens the album and sets the tone of what’s to come. It’s heavy and uplifting.

2. Altitude:

“Altitude” is the title track, a heavy, bluesy stoner rock anthem about escaping the city. Lifting yourself and friends. Celebrating the riff.

3. Phoenix:

“Phoenix” is a slower, doom-inspired track with a hypnotic style repeating riff. It’s about rising again, through adversity and hard times. Staying strong and coming out the other end. No matter how dark the path may be.

4. Right On:

“Right On” is a driving anthem, fast, full of riffs and a sing-along, fist-pumping chorus. Party tunes for wizards and witches, and tellers of a good story.

5. Midnight:

“Midnight” is a little palate cleanser and a softer bit of contrast on the album, in the school of Iommi. It’s a reflective, ambient passage, and crying out for a part 2 where the full band kicks in.

6. Shooting Star:

“Shooting Star” is a fast, chugging riff-filled anthem. It’s about skills and power being unlocked from our own ancestors, the lifeblood of our souls, flowing through the veins. Catching onto a shooting star when you find inspiration.

7. Head first:

“Head First” is about as close to a ballad as this album gets, but it’s also full of prog-like twists, from chuggy blues swagger to slap bass riffs, to a spoken word section before the ethereal guitar solo. It’s simply about diving headfirst into your passions.

8. O.G:

“O.G” was the original track that inspired the writing and direction of this album. It’s laid back, blues swagger, and doom influences shine through. It’s the longest track, full of riffs and heavy moments, and cruises off into the sunset in a slide guitar, western-inspired outro.
