Interviews About Albums: J. Lebang - Electrogasm (2025)

In this new interview, we sat down with the American Hard Rock band, J.Lebang, to ask questions about their album "Electrogasm". 

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?    

JOHN LEBANG: 'Electrogasm' is full of bombastic positive energy and one of the greatest collections of independent musicians on a single album! I'm truly blessed to be able to work with so many great people. It has been 20 years since the last album. If I were going to come back, it was going to be in a big way. The talent surrounding me elevated this music beyond what words can describe. The musicianship speaks for itself. It crosses genres while still retaining my roots. This one is a Banger!

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?     

JOHN LEBANG: Electrogasm = Electric Pleasure

3. Which one is the composer of the CD/EP?

JOHN LEBANG: I wrote the songs, but everyone had their own creative input.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick? 

JOHN LEBANG: That's difficult; each track has its own beauty. But 'Dangerous' sums up the album. It depicts the early days of a power couple. A burning desire that drives this funk-laden dancer. The talent is off the charts on this track. Tosha Owens on Vocals, Takashi Iio on Bass, Monte Porenta on Keyboards, Deon Gladney II on drums, and me on Vocals and guitar.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If there is what it is?

JOHN LEBANG: Yes, with positive energy, you can make your dreams come true and become a better person at the same time.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

JOHN LEBANG: 'The Future's Our Stage", "Cause Baby, Baby I missed you"

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

JOHN LEBANG: Absolutely, my main inspiration was my beautiful wife (To be), Andrea. She pushed me to make the album; She inspired so many of the songs. And most importantly, she stood by me while I worked my butt off, with late nights and long days. She stood by my side every step of the way.
