Interviews: Scarlet Tantrum

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock artist, Scarlet Tantrum, from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

Scarlet Tantrum is my stage name. “Scarlet” comes from my red hair, but it also represents intensity and passion. “Tantrum” reflects who I am emotionally—I’m a very expressive person. To me, a tantrum isn’t just anger; it’s any burst of intense emotion, whether that’s sadness, happiness, love, or heartbreak. That idea of emotional release fits perfectly with the music I make.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I grew up listening to a mix of alternative rock from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, but I also grew up with a lot of pop and soft rock. Because of that, my sound naturally blends edge with softness. Those pop influences show up in my melodies and emotional delivery, while the alt-rock roots give it depth. My latest single, “Insignificant,” is a perfect representation of that softer pop side—it’s intimate, vulnerable, and driven by emotion rather than heaviness

3. Your favourite band?

I have a few favorite bands, and they would have to be Paramore, Halestorm, In This Moment, and Nirvana.

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Writing is such a big emotional outlet for me, and I tend to write a lot about mental health and the current things that are happening in my life. My music is basically a diary that I put out for everyone to hear, and I hope that it can help people and give people an outlet as well.

5. Where was your last gig?

My last gig was in Cary, NC, at Bond Brothers Eastside with my two very good friends, Ari Pappalardo and Allison Hatfield.

6. Where would you like to act?

If we were talking big... I would love to play Coachella, Bonnaroo, and Rock in Rio. My dream is to tour internationally and see the world.

7. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are a ton of artists I would love to collaborate with in the alt-rock scene that including Paramore, Taylor Acorn, YUNGBLUD, Halestorm, Poppy, and Magnolia Park. Other non-alt-rock artists would include Halsey, Lady Gaga, and Timbaland.

8. Whom not?

There aren't any specific artists I wouldn't want to work with, but I would say anyone who isn’t respectful, collaborative, or genuine. The energy matters as much as the music.

9. Have you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Throughout my career, I’ve struggled with stage fright. It’s scary putting yourself out there and being vulnerable with your music on stage. But over time, I’ve gotten much more comfortable the more I’ve performed. You have to push through the fear and the negative thoughts and just step on stage. It’s okay if you mess up—don’t overthink it. Your fans will love and accept you for who you are, not for being perfect.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Paramore has been one of my biggest inspirations, and Hayley Williams as a solo artist as well. Her songwriting is incredible, and her voice is so versatile. I really admire how she’s explored and collaborated across different genres while still staying completely genuine and true to herself—that’s something I strive for as an artist too.

11. What do you think of your fans?

My fans are incredibly supportive and deeply connected to the music. It means everything when someone tells me they resonated with a song I wrote. Getting to connect with people through my music is the coolest thing ever, and my fans mean everything to me.

13. What do you think of our site?

It’s awesome! Platforms like yours are so important for giving alternative artists a voice and helping fans discover new music.

14. Something to add?

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who listens to and supports my music. You guys rock!! And another huge thank you to Breathing the Core for interviewing me!
