Interviews: Walk In Darkness

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Symphonic Metal/Gothic Metal project, Walk In Darkness, from Italy. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

Walk in Darkness represents our ability to continue the journey even when no clear path is visible. We do not need spotlights to move forward — we walk through darkness because we carry our own light.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Metal allows words to become storms. It was not a decision — it was resonance. Our themes required the sound of vast skies and deep waters, and this genre offered the right horizon.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

We do not follow bands — we follow visions. But if names must be given: Pink Floyd for the dream, Draconian for the truth, silence for balance.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We search for our brothers and sisters around the world — or perhaps we are searching for ourselves in another dimension — along with the need to stay human.

6. Where was your last gig?

We are not very interested in concerts as commonly understood. What we seek is to represent our music. We are preparing a theatrical performance and will choose a stage worthy of it.

7. Where would you like to act?

We will see.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Anyone able to resonate with us and with our way of interpreting reality.

9. Whom not?

Anyone who believes music is a muscular exhibition or merely a showcase to display technical ability.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Stage fright only exists when you fear being judged. If you step onto the stage to offer, not to prove, fear has no reason to exist.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Not bands — the wind, the waves that break and withdraw, and silence. Pink Floyd certainly opened a door with their atmospheres; what followed, we crossed on our own.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To perform in a pub or join a summer music festival. It was not weird — it was simply out of place.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are travelers. Each walks through a different night, yet recognizes the same light.

14. What do you think of our site?

A constellation of voices. It has our respect — and probably deserves more visibility, just like us.

15. Something to add?

If nothing else remains, we shall listen to Walk in Darkness, because some journeys begin at the end.
