Track By Tracks: Semper Acerbus - Following Omens (2025)
1. Suffering Awaits:
This track is aside from the rest of the album, a straight-up death metal
song. Not only because of the aggressive nature and boldness, but also the lyrical context as
well. Very raw and in your face.
2. Unwanted:
Unwanted is a melodic classic metalcore song. Dives a bit into emotion and
disarray, with a “clean” chorus with a message of someone being disappointed, trying to
get back on their feet.
3. One Day at A Time:
This song is, in my opinion, the one with the most heartfelt
message. It was created thinking of people who have/been/going through some type of
addiction or mental battle. Trying to defuse the bomb that the mind can be, and making
sure that everyone knows that they aren’t alone.
4. The Gallows:
This was a song written straight out of imagination, thinking on how some
criminals met their fate back in the day, and what it would have been to be there as judge
and executioner.
5. Alluring Vendetta:
This is an instrumental interlude, beautifully composed, kinda to
refresh the palette.
6. Archangel:
Archangel is a metaphorical song, mixing different beliefs and, in the same
toke,n different points of view. Imagine a mix of unspoken thoughts in people’s minds,
getting presented in the same scenario, with different outcomes.
7. Wounded:
Wounded is a song that steps a bit into the nu-metal territory, very vibrant
and groovy. The song points out the feelings that we can have, people can hurt us, in so
many ways, but we are still there, loving, hurting.
8. Torn Inside:
I think this song defines Semper Acerbus in a nutshell. It's heavy, melodic,
intricate, progressive, and groovy, all in the same but being different at the same time.
We believe this song is a strong representation of what we are; the message in the song
is about breakups and disappointment.
9. District Coward:
Last song of the album, we wrote this about the music industry, too
many wolves dressed as sheep, trying to squeeze the small bands or upcoming bands, and then casting them aside, beware!! We all know!
