Behind The Tracks: Let Shades Do - Straight Hell (Single) (2025)

"Straight Hell is not just a song, it’s the final chapter of a conceptual descent into the core of inner tyranny."

With Straight Hell, letShadeS closes a four-part journey, unfolding a sonic and narrative arc that explores the progressive annihilation of the self in the face of oppressive power. Released on December 19, 202,5, via Volcano Records & Promotion, the track is available on all major digital platforms.

This piece is perhaps the most dystopian and brutal of the entire tetralogy. The lyrics by Elisa Porcu paint a surreal world—what she calls a “non-world”—where souls are lobotomized and shaped into servile entities under a false divine order. The scenario is not just metaphorical; it’s a lucid criticism of systems that erase individuality and repress critical thought. It’s spiritual fascism masked as salvation.

Musically, the composition by Domenico Di Girolamo is dense and structured like a soundtrack. The arrangement evolves in waves: from martial and claustrophobic riffs to moments of eerie suspension that evoke both despair and resistance. There's an overwhelming sense of collapse, mirrored in the harmonic dissonances and rhythmic fragmentation.

The recording features an exceptional lineup: John Macaluso (drums), Brooke St. James (guitar), and Maestro Mistheria (keys) join the project to bring Straight Hell to life. Each of them adds a personal touch, enriching the track’s layers with emotional depth and technical authority. The production, finalized at Acme Recording Studio, ensures clarity and power without sacrificing the dark and chaotic nature of the piece.

Straight Hell claims the voice of awakening, of someone who sees the mechanisms of control too clearly to turn back.

Straight Hell is the final descent, but also a scream of awareness. A song for those who dare to confront the shadows without filters, masks, or illusions.
