Interviews: Hate Ritual
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metal band, Hate Ritual, from Mexico. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?
It comes from the idea that “Hate” must stay in music and shouldn’t be used to put down another human being.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Hate Ritual started as a Death/Groove metal band, but we’re definitely exploring other metal genres in our new compositions. We believe metal to be the perfect way to express ourselves.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Most of us did know each other from other music projects. The current line-up has been playing together for about three years, and we were in very different music projects, genre-related speaking, so that helped to create a new sound for the band.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Andrei: Gojira
Inlán: Lamb of god
Pepe: Avid Bath
Rudo: Carcass
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Our songwriting is inspired by the tension between human emotion and systems built to control, optimise, or replace it. Lately, much of our inspiration comes from observing how technology and artificial intelligence shape identity, memory, and decision-making, often in subtle but unsettling ways.
We’re drawn to moments where human instinct clashes with logic, where emotion refuses to be reduced to data. That conflict—between chaos and order, intuition and calculation—is where most of our songs are born. Music becomes a way to question those systems, not from a technical standpoint, but from a deeply human one.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last show in 2025 was in our hometown, Mérida. After playing a gig in Quintana Roo with Putrified Infested Guts. It was sort of a “thank you” to the people who support our music and the bands we regularly play with. Right now, we’re focusing on finishing our new record.
7. Where would you like to act?
Our goal is to perform outside of Mexico in 2026. We’re looking into South America, as there are great bands and a big scene in countries like Colombia and Brazil.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
We’re exploring different local projects that would like to create something different, but also, thanks to the internet, it’s possible to collaborate with artists all around the world. We’re aiming to create something new, so all bands looking for the same, let’s work together!
9. Whom not?
No idea!
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Rudo: Yes, I used to suffer from stage fright when I was younger. My recommendation would be, trust your bandmates; they will do their job as long as you do yours. So practice, master your instrument, and with time, you’ll learn to enjoy it more every time. Nowadays, playing live is one of the things that I enjoy the most.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We’ve shared the stage with great bands such as Suffocation, Yoth Iria, Warbringer, Cemican, and Thell Barrio. It's always inspiring to see those bands perform and get to know them and hang out. There’s so much you can learn from bands that have been where you are before.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
To sign weird body parts!
13. What do you think of your fans?
We’re grateful to have people enjoying our music and listening to what we have to say. We like meeting people on one, talking about music and bonding over it.
14. What do you think of our site?
You're doing an excellent job supporting and promoting metal bands, especially emerging and underground artists. The site feels very artist-focused, giving bands real visibility through reviews, interviews, and features rather than treating releases as disposable content. It’s clear there’s a genuine commitment to helping heavy music reach new audiences and to building a strong connection between musicians and listeners within the global metal community.
15. Something to add?
Thank you so much for letting us be a part of BTC. Please listen to E R A S E D on all platforms.
