Behind The Tracks: Dont You Dare - Black & Blue (Single) (2026)
Noah: BLACK & BLUE comes from a place of yearning for attention; craving that connection with someone who was never there, and after years of wanting that acceptance, how that lack of clarity turns to anger. The inspiration, I would say, is my relationship with my parents in the past, friends, and former lovers who are no longer in my life.
You have to accept defeat in some cases, be that for better or for worse, and this song's significance is just that, raw, unfiltered, heavy emotion fueled by years of pent-up emotions that were finally cleansed in the recording process and whenever we play it live. The video is just that, a disaster. It is crazy from start to finish, and during the filming, everyone was getting injured, which doubled down on the name of the song. You can see in shots I’m bleeding, and we are EXHAUSTED!
The video embodies the song through and through.
Lastly, the artwork was intentional. The umbrella is made to look worn and beaten, the same as the lyrics of the song; the color palette is moody and gritty, and the subway is dirty. Exactly how you feel when you are discarded.
