Interviews About Albums: Papa Necrose - Anthropomorphy Execution (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Brazilian Death Metal band Papa Necrose to ask questions about their album "Anthropomorphy Execution".
1. What can you say about Anthropomorphy Execution?
Danilo: It is an album that drew out of us all the essence and technique we were capable of achieving. We went through an extensive pre-production process, but we managed to reach a very satisfying final result.
We carried out about 90% of the work in our guitarist Carlos Silva’s own studio, which allowed us to be even more deeply connected to the creation of this album.
It was interesting to incorporate all our familiarity into it — both in the composition process and in the technical aspects of mixing and mastering, handled by our drummer, Luquian Silva (Carlos Silva’s son)
2. What is the meaning of the album name?
Danilo: The concept presents an ambiguous perspective. First, it addresses the cultures that were torn apart by Rome, which later evolved into Catholicism. This destruction was rooted in belief systems centered on gods whose symbolism embodied visual and behavioral traits of animals. With Christian/Catholic fundamentalism and the so-called “holy wars” aimed at centralizing Catholic power, all opposing cultures were systematically eradicated.
The attempt to erase history was further reinforced by the burning of the libraries of Constantinople and Alexandria.
The second aspect of the concept is the monstrous depiction of the Pope that we consistently portray on our album covers — and the monstrosities he represents.
3. Which one is the composer of the Anthropomorphy Execution?
Danilo: Most of the songs were composed by Luquian, with contributions from all members in the form of ideas and small details. Luquian was deeply inspired and is an extraordinary musician, capable of performing on every instrument — and, to top it all off, he also served as our sound engineer and producer.
We dedicate all the positive feedback about the album to our drummer and brother, Luquian Silva.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
Danilo: My favorite song is ANTHROPORMOPHY EXECUTION. It contains numerous nuances and phases that compile and reflect the stage we are currently in. We manage to move between the most brutal sound and the more traditional one, alternating between technical passages and rawer, old-school sections.
There is a compositional care that dialogues with the lyrics: a musical phrase built on the Phrygian Dominant scale — an Arabic scale — played with a sitar in the middle (an idea from my friend Diego), connects directly with the central concept of the song
5. Is there a special message in Anthropomorphy Execution? If there is what it is?
Danilo: As always, we seek to portray the chaos and destruction that the Catholic Church has imposed on the world. To this day, we still endure a form of patriarchy established by Rome, as well as the brutal consequences of colonization that were fully supported by Catholic institutions.
We must not forget that, if the Vatican truly wished, it would have the financial power to end world hunger in an instant — yet religion continues to extract every last drop of sweat and blood to further expand its control over the world.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
Danilo: ANTHROPORMOPHY EXECUTION:
You have been, ask divine
You have been, as power all
You human interference, is sacrifice
Ride purulence, is false godness
You not have been, because it won't be
To overflower, you go to execution
You need an image, to be grow
Exercising strength and death
You dominate
Image of stone
Transformed into…
7. Which inspirations have been important for Anthropomorphy Execution? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
Danilo: This album was composed drawing from all of our influences, so you will hear elements of Obituary, Pestilence, and Death — but ultimately, Papa Necrose breathes and bleeds Death Metal. We are addicted to the genre: we constantly explore new bands, revisit the old references, and every day expand the range of works that inspire us
8. Something to add?
Danilo: Expect nothing less than our best work. We invested a great deal of time and energy into this album, and we want our fans to receive the very best of us. We want to perform, we want to create, and we are at the peak of our musical maturity.
We are focused on delivering cohesive and professional live shows — a complete experience from a band that is fully committed to carrying forward Extreme Metal and Death Metal.
