Interviews: Leave The Wave
On this new occasion, we had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Leave The Wave from Cyprus. Check out the interview and follow this band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just happen
that?
Our band name is inspired by a Cypriot comedy audio story called ‘Giakoumis o
Krikos.’ It’s a phrase from the story, and it doesn’t have a deep meaning, but we
like it.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s the genre where we feel we can truly express ourselves. The raw emotion, the
energy, and the honesty of this style allow us to say what we want without filters and
be real through our music.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Gregory (vocals) and Constantinos (drums) were friends before the band was
formed. The rest of the band members met later, as the band started to come together.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Gregory - Pearl Jam
Artemis - Planet of Zeus
Constantinos - Avenged Sevenfold
Sergios - Deftones
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Every day life and our inner world inspire us to write songs. Our experiences,
emotions, and thoughts shape the way we create music and express ourselves
through our sound.
6. Where was your last gig?
Neverland rock bar in Nicosia (Cyprus)
7. Where would you like to act?
Rock im Park
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Alice in Chains
9. Whom not?
Diddy
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how
to beat that?
Our guitarist actually deals with stage fright almost every time before we go on
stage. But once the show starts and the energy kicks in, it usually disappears. For
beginners, the best advice is one shot of brandy and an energy drink.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
We are inspired by the 90s and 00s bands like Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Linkin
Park, Audioslave, and Nirvana.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Somebody once asked for our bassist’s name. We didn’t even know we had a bassist!
13. What do you think of your fans?
Our fans give us the strength to keep moving forward. Their support, energy, and
connection with our music mean everything to us and push us to keep creating and
performing.
14. What do you think of our site?
We think your site is great. It’s really important to support independent music and
give bands a platform to share their work, and we respect the effort you put into that.
Spaces like yours help keep the scene alive.
15. Something to add?
Peace, love, and rock n roll!
