Track By Tracks: AZKEN AUZI - Infernua (2026)
1. DEEP HELL:
Musically, this song was a group effort. Lyrics are about suicide, more specifically, the demons and anxieties that can haunt each of us at some point in our lives. Everyone goes through dark thoughts at some point, and I wanted to describe, simply and bluntly, those moments that confront us with our own mortality.
2. SK:
We have always been intrigued, even fascinated, by serial killers, and in fact, "SK" follows in the footsteps of what we started on our first album with the track "I Hate You. Ludo composed this song with the aim of establishing and maintaining the presence of a track dealing with this subject on each of our albums. Musically, "SK" is less doom/sludge than the others; in fact, Ludo was more determined to compose a post-metal/post-hardcore track, even drawing inspiration from the alternative scene of the 90s.
3. BLACKMASS:
This is a song we wanted to be strong, slow, and occult was the first one we composed after the release of the first album. After having finished setting it up musically, we found that it sounded like a ritual song, which is why we no longer thought of putting singing on it, and it became an instrumental song by default when it wasn’t planned at the beginning.
4. SEE YOU NEXT THUESDAY:
Musically, this track is very 'doom': heavy, fat, and hypnotic with catchy riffs. We wanted to have this 'classic' touch on the album.
The text, for its part, is an aggressive and insulting scream addressed to a very specific handful of people, a settling of scores in response to many gratuitous invectives against us since our beginnings. The tone is certainly violent, accusatory, and hostile, but we rely on a realistic and rational argument. These people will recognize each other.
5. REPTILIAN:
Ludo composed this song in a slightly more "modern" spirit, we wanted to experiment with new sounds and turn towards a direction slightly different from the other tracks on the album.
This text evokes a dark and intense atmosphere, filled with themes of soul corruption and inner decay in a post-apocalyptic world. Through powerful and repetitive phrases, he suggests a fall from purity to something monstrous and spiritually broken, a feeling of moral collapse and lost greatness. Overall, the text depicts a dark vision of the soul consumed by darkness, ego and destructive desires.
6. FROM HELL:
For the last song of INFERNUA, we wanted to create a more ethereal track and bring a glimmer of hope, something we had never done before. We have therefore chosen to create another instrumental piece to finish this album.
