Behind The Tracks: Oathswan - Nothing (Single) (2026)
A young girl becomes pregnant in the 1940s on the Mediterranean island of Kalymnos.
Her father, a harsh and unyielding figure, cannot accept this reality, as neither could most fathers of his time. Society itself condemns such acts; everything is forbidden, everything is silent.
The girl finds no help, no refuge, no understanding from anyone. Yet she insists on giving birth, believing the child could offer her hope — a reason to live, a purpose, a meaning to her existence.
The weight of isolation and fear slowly drives her to madness. She begins to see visions of her life: one with the child, and one without it — desperately trying to choose her fate.
When the moment comes, she follows the blood path and ends the pregnancy. Only then does she fully realize what she has done — and she takes her own life.
“Nothing” confronts the emotional abandonment of a child by its mother. Not through death, not through absence of body — but through silence, neglect, and emotional withdrawal.
It speaks of a bond that should be unbreakable, slowly corroded by coldness, unresolved trauma, and refusal to connect.
