Behind The Tracks: Restive Nation - Dreaming (Single) (2026)
Dreaming captures modern unease - social control, environmental strain, and emotional disconnection - yet ultimately leans toward hope. It suggests renewal begins with awareness. The transformation at its core may feel fragile, but it leaves a quiet conviction that restoration and growth remain within reach, and the future is not fixed.
Sonically, the track draws on strong ’70s influences, inspired by artists such as David Bowie and Gary Numan, blending vintage atmosphere with a modern edge.
Dreaming also marks a full-circle moment for Restive Nation, reconnecting with longtime collaborator Atmahead. A key creative force from the earliest singles through two EPs — and later a permanent member on the band’s debut album — Atmahead helped shape the Restive Nation sound with his genre-fluid instinct. Though he eventually stepped back, one unreleased track remained in the vault for years; Dreaming became the natural moment to reconnect and complete the circle.
