Interviews: Joanovarc

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Hard Rock band, Joanovarc, from England. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

The band name was chosen by Shelley and Sam Walker many years ago. The sibling founders of the band decided that they would choose a strong, powerful name to represent women in rock.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Collectively, we are all fans of rock and prog music, and we wanted to write something for ourselves

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

With this current lineup, we all formed from different areas and met through auditions, but originally, the band was formed by sisters Shelley and Sam Walker.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Chloe - Foo Fighters, Muse, Halestorm, QOTSA, Sleep Token

Immy - Rush, Iron Maiden

Shelley - Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, Muse.

Emma - Halestorm, Muse, Shinedown

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We write songs with how we feel in the moment, but the style of how our songs are written is influenced by artists that we've all grown up listening to over the years.

6. Where was your last gig?

Aonia Fest, Corporation Sheffield

7. Where would you like to play?

We would love to continue playing new venues and festivals, Steelhouse, Loverocks, Maid of Stone, Call of the Wild, and maybe even download one day!

8. Who would you like to support?

Halestorm!

9. Who not?

Anyone who doesn't share our values and morals when it comes to being in a band

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Yes, a lot - but you feed off the fans and their support, and you do it all for them!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Seeing first hand band like Those Damn Crows and Florence Black achieve huge success from dedication and hard work

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Not so much weird but cool, a fan came to our show and had printed off selfies from our photoshoot that they wanted us to sign, which was awesome, having to have photos with fans and sign autographs still feels very surreal

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans, we pour every ounce of blood, sweat, and tears into the music and shows for our fans, and no matter what happens to us, the fans will be one of our main priorities as a band.
