Interviews: Knocked For Six
On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Knocked For Six from the UK. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or did it just come out like that?
Charlie: I can't remember exactly how it came about, but I remember Harry mentioning it as an idea for a name and liking it, then it was put to the rest of the band, and we went with it. It definitely suits the sound that we have now as well.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
Charlie: We're all in stressful jobs we don't particularly enjoy. Life is hard, unforgiving, and unfair. I feel like our style allows us to let go of all that bullshit and just throw down. Also, Chug City is life.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Charlie: So Chris is my little bro, Harry, aka H bizzle, has been my best mate for the past 19 years, I met Will at college, and Harry and I met Joe at uni, so yeah, we were all mates before K46 reached its final form
.
4. Each band member's favourite band?
Chris - Meshuggah
Charlie - all forms of Devin Townsend
Joe - Whitesnake
Will - Northlane
Harry - Slipknot
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Will: Honestly, my love of music comes from my Dad, who exposed me to stuff like Bodom and In Flames in my early years, so he's definitely a big part of my inspiration.
6. Where was your last gig?
Charlie: It was the Fickle Pickle in Southend, it was sick!
Will: We love the Pickle!
7. Where would you like to play?
Charlie: I'd say any major festival would be awesome, but there's a venue in Manchester called Satan's Hollow that I know would be so fun!
Will: The first ever show I went to see was Bodom, Machinehead, and Slipknot at the Hammersmith Apollo on the All Hope Is Gone tour, so yeah, probably the Apollo!
8. Who would you like to support?
Charlie: Malevolence, Traitors, Northlane, Drain, Knocked Loose, Orthodox.
9. Who not?
Charlie: Lost prophets, Gary Glitter, P Diddy.
Will: Yeah, that's definitely a lineup I'd like to avoid.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?
Charlie: Yeah, the shakes were crazy! I'd say just keep gigging, and it'll settle down. Also, make sure you had a shit that day to stay nimble and athletic on stage, you down wanna be thinking about anything else but locking in and throwing down.
Will: It's been a while, but honestly, if you start to get overwhelmed by people in front of you, don't be afraid to close your eyes; it just looks like you're really feeling the music. Other than that, use your bandmates! You're on stage together, so don't be afraid to interact with them!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Charlie: So many bands, but I'd say Meshuggah, Slipknot, Machine Head, Brutality will prevail, Northlane are some of the main ones.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Charlie: A picture of just me on my own, without the rest of the band in front of an arcade on Southend seafront. I've never seen that photo since, but I hope whoever took it enjoys it.
Will: I probably shouldn't say...
13. What do you think of your fans?
Charlie: They're all absolute legends! We love this band and really believe in what we do, so when people get it and vibe with us, it makes everything feel even more special.
Will: Quality people, a lot of them, they've shown so much support and recently have been out in force to back us live! We love them.
14. What do you think of our site?
Charlie: Sensational.
Will: Stupendous
15. Something to add?
Charlie: What's 13 + 54?
Will: Be sure to drop us a follow on our social platforms so you don't miss show announcements and all the new music we have in the works!
