Interviews: Stories Through Storms

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Stoies Through Storms from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name?

Was it planned, or did it just come naturally? The name originally came up during a practice with a former drummer. He mentioned “Stories Through Storms,” but ended up shooting it down because he thought it might be odd with my name being Storm. I believe he pulled it from a song by Reflections. I loved the name, so I kind of pocketed the idea. When this lineup came together, I brought it to the table and everyone connected with it immediately.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

I was raised on rock and metal, so for me, there was never really another option. It’s the most passionate and powerful genre in the world. The energy, the emotion, the intensity — it’s unmatched. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Some of us did. Tony and I went to high school together, and Chris, Christian, and I were part of an earlier version of the band. This lineup came together naturally through those connections.

4. Each band member’s favorite band?

Storm Ruby – Motionless In White

Christian Kwitkowski – Memphis May Fire

Chris Kassien – The Plot In You

Anthony Estes – Rise Against

Timmy Taylor – Slipknot

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Every day life, honestly. Most of our songs come from the struggles we face as people navigating the world — personal battles, relationships, and situations we’ve lived through. We take those real emotions and amplify them.

6. Where was your last gig?

We just ripped a show in Kansas City with VRSTY and For The Fallen Dreams. All great dudes who make great music.

7. Where would you like to play?

Long term, I’ve always dreamed of playing Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It’s such an iconic and powerful venue. That’s definitely a bucket-list stage for us.

8. Who would you like to feature with?

Personally, I’d love to work with Matt Heafy from Trivium or Chris Motionless from Motionless In White. Both would be bucket-list collaborations.

9. Who wouldn’t you like to feature with?

We’re not really opposed to working with anyone. As long as the vibe is right and we can create something meaningful and powerful together, we’re open to it.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners?

I’ve definitely had some pre-show jitters, but once I step on stage, I lock in. My biggest advice is to focus on having fun. Everyone makes mistakes — it’s part of performing. When you accept that and stay present, the nerves usually fade.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Slipknot and Bullet For My Valentine were huge inspirations for me growing up. Ice Nine Kills — especially the albums The Predator Becomes the Prey and Every Trick in the Book — really changed how I viewed songwriting and concept. And Architects’ more recent material has been shaping my perspective lately as well.

12. What’s the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Nothing too crazy yet — but we’re sure it’s only a matter of time.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We couldn’t be more grateful. Anyone who takes the time to listen to our music or come out to a show means everything to us. We don’t take that support lightly.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it’s awesome. Anyone who takes the time to spotlight up-and-coming bands deserves a lot of respect. There’s so much incredible new music out there right now, and platforms like yours help people discover it. The bar has been raised so high compared to when we first started playing shows.

15. Anything you’d like to add?

Go check out our latest single, “Dogbreath,” and follow us on all socials. We’ve got new music, videos, and merch dropping all year long — and we’re just getting started.
