Track By Tracks: Decent News - Computer (2026)
Eddie: I had a lot of fun putting together the artwork for this release. It's very cluttered and busy,
but that just means there's more room to take a closer look and see some Easter eggs.
I took a lot of inspiration from early internet pop-up ads. It helps reflect the theme that the EP
sets out to convey. Pop-up ads didn't go away; they evolved into rage-baiting content that is
actively shaping public policy. The same people who believed that they were the "1,000,000th
visitor" on Yahoo's home page also now believe that the earth is flat and Q is a real person.

Flesh for the Feast is the first track that the three of us wrote together with our new synth guy, Dominic. He brought his Nord lead over to my apartment and wrote some of the main melody.
Then Laken and I wrote the main guitar parts. All in all it look maybe two hours to write the
whole instrumental. Lyrically, we didn't set out to write a protest song, fuck it. The shoe fits.
Drowned in Power had an interesting writing process. I was having trouble with my PC, and FL Studio corrupted the original file I was working on. In the meantime, I started rewriting it on a
Sega Dreamcast. There's this Japanese game where it's essentially a DAW. I took a bass line I
was working on and tracked nearly everything else, threw some samples of a botched execution
over it with some guitar, and Laken filled in the vocals.
Help Computer: I asked Dominic about the writing process, and he said he got really high and
started fucking with LFO's.
For Bloated & Blue, I was in a James Brown phase for a few weeks, and we wanted to try out
something in 12/8.
Valueless Trade: Laken has this one basically done out of the gate. I just recorded my half of
the guitar tracks and expanded the intro, and Dom helped with the final arrangement.
