Behind The Artworks: Monhell - King Of A Stellar War (Rotting Christ Cover)

Well, the cover came about almost without planning. I was thinking about doing a version of King of a Stellar War by Rotting Christ, and even before recording anything, I already had in mind that I wanted a powerful image to go with it. So I asked my friend Carlos to draw a dark king sitting on his throne, surrounded by crows, with a stellar storm tearing through the sky above. That’s it.

He got to work without asking many questions. Before long, he finished the sketch. When he showed it to me, I was quite impressed because he had captured exactly what I had in my head. The king, the crows, the sky turned into cosmic chaos… everything had that dark, epic touch I was looking for.

In the end, the cover became the first piece of the project, even before I recorded the song…
