Behind The Tracks: General Chaos - Busted (Single) (2026)
I wrote Busted with my bad luck in mind and my unfortunate tendency to get myself into trouble, often at school or just in everyday life in general. So I got into the habit of being more careful and cautious, while still trying to stay honest and true to myself—without being afraid to say what I think and do what I believe is the right thing. The lyrics recorded for the song were written four days before the first recording session. I think that gives a better and more genuine result, because the emotion was still fresh, especially compared to some songs on the album that were written several months before being recorded.
The video was filmed and co-directed by Maurice Simard, one of the band’s oldest friends, whom we’ve known for over a decade. We chose the streets of Old Montreal for the environmental contrast they offer. On one side of the Lachine Canal, you can find luxury apartment complexes, and on the other side, abandoned grain silos and the Five Roses flour mill.
