Behind The Tracks: Slow Degrade - Lead Me Down (Single) (2026)

“Lead me down.” Is about my brother, Cody’s past relationship, and seeing how it affected him. My brother has always been someone I look up to, and it hurt to see him go through that.

"My brother has always been a happy and uplifting person; seeing how that relationship affected him inspired the theme of this track. Changing who he was to fit the mold for someone impacted me, and I could tell things were not genuine. I wrote the song about the internal battle you have in a toxic relationship. Choosing to let go and heal, or watch your relationship keep burning down and holding on for the sake of the other person.

"Sonically, I was inspired by early 2000s alternative / industrial metal, nu-metal, and death/metalcore. I grew up listening to bands like Marilyn Manson, Orgy, and Nine Inch Nails, and have always loved the in-your-, face abrasive drum sampling they did. “Lead me down.” artistically is the current state of Slow Degrade, and we plan to keep pushing the threshold of blending heavy music with melodic.
