Interviews About Albums: Danyell - (De)Generation (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Nu-Metal artist Danyell to ask questions about his album, "(De)Generation".

1. What can you say about your EP "(De)Generation"?

“(De)Generation” is a high-energy nu metal project built around heavy guitars, aggressive grooves, and strong contrasts between chaos and melody. It’s not just a collection of tracks, but a cohesive work that reflects a certain tension and disconnection I feel in today’s world.

2. What is the meaning of the EP name?

The title “(De)Generation” plays on a double meaning. It can be read as “degeneration,” but also as “the generation itself.” It reflects a sense of decay, confusion, and loss of identity, but at the same time, it points directly at the people living through it.

3. Who is the composer?

Everything was composed, produced, and developed by me as a solo project.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

It’s hard to choose, but I’d probably pick the track that best represents the balance between aggression and melody. That contrast is really the core of the whole project.

5. Is there a special message on "(De)Generation"? If there is what it is?

There isn’t a single, direct message, but more of a general feeling. It’s about frustration, disillusionment, and trying to find a sense of identity in a world that often feels artificial and disconnected.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

I prefer people to experience the lyrics in context with the music, but the recurring theme is about internal conflict and resisting external pressure.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this release? Like musically or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?

Musically, early 2000s metal and alternative music had a strong influence on the sound. Beyond that, it’s more about personal experiences and observations rather than specific people. Still, I appreciate everyone who supports the project in any way.

8. Something to add?

I just hope people can connect with the energy and the atmosphere of the project. Whether it’s through personal listening or in a visual context, the goal is to make something that leaves an impact.
