Interviews: Miamorii

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock band Miamorii from the USA. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No. Kyle had the idea for the band, originally wanting an all-remote project, and searched the internet for members. He landed (very luckily) on Cam, Nate, and me.

2. Why did we want to play this genre?

The original term Kyle threw out when telling me about the project was “baddiecore” lol, but I’d say we are metalcore at heart, but experiment with different genres. Eventually, we will put out an EDM EP, for example.

3. Who or what inspires us to write songs? 

We take influence from other bands but also from other forms of media. Miamorii is a concept band, so we have done and have yet to do a lot of world-building on top of songwriting.

4. Have any of you suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

I myself have never performed live. I have done karaoke and had terrible stage fright, haha. Cam and Kyle both have live experience. Kyle has said that it’s best to try and just not care. If you mess up, so what? Keep going.

5. What bands have inspired you most? 

For me personally, I’d say Third Eye Blind, Meg Myers, and Bring Me The Horizon. 

6. What do you think of your fans? 

We love them, obviously. We want to continue to put out things that people like, but we also know that we don’t want to fit in a box, so we write for ourselves and hope to continue building our fan base of those who like US, not just a particular sound.

7. Who would we NOT want to feature?

“TX2” (says Cam), haha

8. Whom would we like to feature with?

Personally, I dream of featuring for Bring Me The Horizon or Spiritbox. But really, anyone. We have a lot of characters to fill for the lore, so we also plan to feature a ton of artists as we go forward.
