Interviews: Viva Los Villains

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock/Indie Rock band Viva Los Villains from England. Check out the interview and follow the band on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it, or did it just come out like that?

We adopted the band name "Achtung!" first, though due to other bands having the same name, we needed a fresh name, and Tom came up with "Viva Los Villains", which we all loved.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We just write music that we enjoy, and that reflects our broad tastes.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Tom and I met at university, and we quickly hit it off with a shared love of similar bands and sense of humour. We then travelled south east Asia with our acoustic guitars, writing and playing covers, and enjoying the lawless mayhem that we experienced. Aaron joined us at the end of 2024 and, as a multi-instrumentalist, helped take us to a new level.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Johnny: Beatles, Rolling Stones, Stooges

Tom: Beatles, Led Zeppelin

Aaron: Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, RHCP

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Johnny: Lennon/McCartney, Lou Reed, Bob Dylan

Tom: McCartney, Paul Simon, Smokey Robinson

Aaron: Pete Townsend, Smokey Robinson, Mick Jagger

6. Where was your last gig?

It was an acoustic set in a pub near Chichester.

7. Where would you like to act?

Victorious Festival near us would be cool.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Fontaines DC

9. Whom not?

Yungblud 

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

Not majorly. I think it's good to have nerves before playing live, as it shows you care and you can feed off your own adrenaline.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Beatles, Rolling Stones, Motown, Led Zeppelin.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

A paternity test.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Have good taste. Questionable characters, though.

14. What do you think of our site? Impressive.

15. Something to add?

Never eat yellow snow.
