Track By Tracks: Hazardous - Let There Be Dark (2026)
1. I.H.N.M.A.I.M.S:
Tried something different for the intro this time. Instead of the usual instrumental guitar stuff, I felt synths would fit us perfectly. That’s literally the only reason. Definitely nothing to do with me accidentally switching Guitar Pro tabs to synth.
2. KILLING HOUR:
The first song ever written was Hazardous in 2019! Back when we were more blackened thrash with death influences. The final version obviously isn’t really any of that anymore, but you can still hear bits of it here and there. And trust me, the first version sucked.
3. LET THERE BE DARK:
Started as a gallop song and somehow turned into our biggest hit and the title for the album, fuck yeah. With the new vocal style (my highs, mids, Kuzey’a vocals, and gang vocals), it felt like the perfect start. Just so everyone knows, the vocals aren’t parrotty anymore. The name of the song and the lyrics are a direct reference to the Evil Dead IP, and the chant that I did in the pre-solo is a combination of all of this. I love this one because I just wanted to write a fillerish song to fill the album, but the more time I spent on it, the more it turned into a perfect thrash song that gives you everything you’d want from a thrash song, obviously.
4. YET ANOTHER SONG ABOUT WAR:
Back in the early days, we had like three post-apocalyptic songs. This one used to be called War Never Changes, where I was glazing Fallout IP. But as you can probably tell from the lyrics, my perspective on thrash songs about war changed a lot. Nothing but love for Sodom and Bolt Thrower, but it's getting boring, guys. The title came from Eray, genius move, couldn’t think of anything better.
5. CELESTIAL DESOLATION:
Our slow, heavy-ass song… which I hate. I really don’t like slow thrash. I get the whole headbanging-to-slow-groove thing, but four minutes of it is just not for me. So I figured: 2 minutes of that, and 2 minutes of me trying (and failing) to be Tom Araya would be perfect for a band like us.
6. VIOLENT CRESCENDO:
Our beautiful prog, techy, nerd thrash song that no one cared about. My favorite, though. I literally rapped with scream vocals, and my beautiful baby sits last in line… AFTER IT'S FUCKING INTRO EVEN.
7. HELLSPAWN:
While writing this bad boy, I was deep into French deathrash. Noticed they love ridiculously long instrumental intros, then suddenly drop into riffs that make you go “fuck yeah” instantly. That was the vibe. I’m kinda tired of writing all this, but there’s also some cute melodic black stuff at the end. Check that out too!
This song can be seen as a combination of two separate songs. The first half is about RoboCop, and the second half is about The Terminator. The movies and the old Sega Genesis and SNES game RoboCop Versus The Terminator influenced us. Lyrics are all about that stuff and concepts such as the OCP’s enforcement droid ED-209 and Skynet. This song is also like a guitar battle. RoboCop’s part is written by Deniz, and the Terminator part is written by Hamit. During the live shows, this song is one of the most entertaining songs to play. Hamit leaves his guitar, wildly screams “Terminate Them!” and gets in the crowd for some relentless mayhem and sings in the moshpit. Shortly, this song serves and terminates.
