Behind The Artworks: Self Deception - One Of Us (2026)

The album cover concept grew from drummer Erik Ingels Graham, who was reading about the 1932 Gua experiment, where a chimpanzee was raised as a human. Erik envisioned a boy fighting for acceptance within an 'ape gang.' To bring this vision to life, he collaborated with illustrator Alex Tillbrook (known for work with Sleep Token, Stranger Things, Blink-182, and Metallica) to transform these psychological themes into a striking visual concept. This struggle for belonging flows directly into the album title, 'Are You One of Us?'. The name was born on tour, watching thousands of people escape their ordinary lives to find common ground in the mosh pit. In those moments, the outside world fades, and we become a single, collective energy. Ultimately, we are all just "misfits" seeking a sense of home, proving that we share the same primal need for connection and release through music.
