Behind The Tracks: SCHISM:IX - Burn With Me (Single) (2026)
When we started work on our upcoming debut EP, THE PAIN WITHIN, our goal from day one was to showcase our range while still maintaining a consistent atmosphere across all six tracks.
But in order to express ourselves in the way we truly wanted, we needed one track to stand apart from the rest, something that could represent a pivotal moment in someone’s personal journey of reclaiming themselves. That track became “BURN WITH ME”.
Where much of the EP leans into the human experience from an atmospheric and aggressive standpoint, “BURN WITH ME” acts as a breaking point where everything just goes to sh*t. It’s unapologetically intense from the word “go” and refuses to let up.
The entire track was actually built from a demo created by our original guitarist and drummer. Once I heard it, we ended up writing an entire song around a single 60-second idea, and over time, it just became heavier and more chaotic until it evolved into what it is now.
We are no strangers to heavy music, but from a musical standpoint, we wanted this track to feel overwhelming, unpredictable, and completely out of character compared to the rest of the EP. We’re excited for people to hear the drastic shift in tone that “BURN WITH ME” brings to THE PAIN WITHIN.
The beauty of both “BURN WITH ME” and THE PAIN WITHIN is that the original trio behind it has never actually shared a room together as a collective unit. Every part of this discography up until now has been created through the borders and barriers that separate us.
The result, while born from an unconventional creative process, is a piece of art we are incredibly proud of, and we can’t wait for people to finally hear it and really sink their teeth into it.
