Interviews About Albums: Loneshore - Nothing Left To Deconstruct (2026)
In this new interview, we sat down with the Brazilian Progressive Post-Metal band Loneshore to ask questions about their album, "Nothing Left To Deconstruct".
1. What can you say about this new album?
Compared to the first album that we released in 2018, in this second album, we
explored new influences and sounds and pushed some boundaries in terms of
songwriting. All the experience we’ve been learning through these years, we
aimed to consolidate in this record. And we think the final result is more mature
and consistent material than our debut album.
2. What is the meaning of the album name?
The songwriting process for this album began during the pandemic, and we
produced and recorded it throughout that entire period. So much of the suffering
we have experienced collectively and individually is imprinted on this record, on
the riffs, on the melodies, on the meaning of the lyrics, in its entire conception.
The album's title reflects this. We felt the impact of this dark period of isolation,
disillusionment, frustration, and death. The whole deconstruction of our social
and human relationships, and then the need to rebuild them.
3. Which one is the composer of the album?
Most of the song ideas started with riffs created by our guitarist, Renan Rubim.
Bruno Farinazzo, the other guitarist in the band, has brought some ideas too.
Some riff ideas were also added by our vocalist, Luiz Felipe Netto. Once we
had the guitar ideas solidified, our drummer, Pedro Mercier, and our bassist, Luan
Moura, added their signature to the songs, according to the lines of their
respective instruments. In this way, the composition and arrangement process
for this album was quite collective.
4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?
All the songs are very unique and have their own atmospheres. We appreciate
them all. But we think that "With Nothing We Part" conveys a powerful emotion
and closes the album beautifully.
5. Is there a special message in this album? If there is what it is?
The message we seek to convey in this album is the sharing of a collective
suffering that was felt individually by each of us during the pandemic. The
musical journey throughout the album is an expression of this, but it can also be
interpreted as a way of healing a wound so that we can move forward.
6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?
The album lyrics were written during the pandemic, as we've already
mentioned. They were written by our vocalist, Luiz Felipe Netto, and all the
emotional suffering we were experiencing during that time is reflected in the
lyrics. Many of the lyrics also reflect our concern about the external reality around us, how we affect our environment, and how we are connected to it. It's
a two-way path, both in how we affect external reality and how we are affected
by it.
7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Like musically
or friends, family, someone you'd love to thank especially?
Musically, in this album, we sought to explore more elements of post-metal,
while maintaining our progressive approach and striking down with doom-death
metal guitar leads, which are already a core of our sound since the debut album.
Some of the post-metal bands that had a huge influence on this record were The
Ocean, Isis, and Cult of Luna.
8. Something to add?
We just want to thank all our fans for their support and positive feedback after
the release of our first single, "Parhelion." We want to thank Willowtip
Records for supporting us in the release of this second album, which will be
released on June 19th. We hope everyone enjoys it. And we also want to thank
Breathing the Core for this opportunity to talk about our new album.
