Track By Tracks: Erdve - Epigrama (2026)

The album:

EPIGRAMA is a deconstructive exploration of gradual psychological erosion, where grief, nostalgia, and stagnation are bound by the natural laws of entropy. It suggests that every decision, or lack thereof, carries an unavoidable debt, while regret becomes an anchor in a mire of guilt and shame. The album speaks of attempts to find solace in old memories or utilizing the power of creativity to withstand the devastating truth of entropy, until self-decay appears to be the only lever of control left in the flow of time. EPIGRAMA views life as a series of intertwining architectural constructs where crumbling beliefs shake the foundation, truth becomes redundant, and the reality of regret remains unsolvable. The structure is collapsing either way, though, whether it will be through severe moral and physical degradation or happiness and fulfillment, the universe stays indifferent. Ultimately, this album is a series of stories about seeking serenity while living with failure, often aching to return to places in time where you felt loved.

Musically, EPIGRAMA delivers a familiar yet fundamentally different approach towards experimenting within the confines of heavy music and reflective storytelling. The band took some time from the previous album to rediscover their relationship with music and identified the elements that convey the vision in the most truthful way. Intentionality is a key factor to describe how the album was put together, since every single sound, verse and chord is of a hand-picked nature, leaving little room for coincidence. The writing and production of this album was a cathartic trial-and-error experience of re-learning what it means to create music. The main goal was to carefully craft a meticulous consistency between the music, lyrics and sound production, where every aspect of the song works together to create a meaningful impact. It’s not a snapshot in time; it’s a whole journey of discovery in the process that marks a new beginning for Erdve.

Track by Track:

1. Epigrama:

This is the title track of the album. EPIGRAMA follows the idea that every decision, or lack thereof, carries an unavoidable debt to be accounted for. It’s about finding significance, clarity and the true meaning of choices. Falling out of the abyss, through the confines of understanding, is where one finds madness as the most pure and truthful, otherwise incomprehensible. We wanted our title track to sound like a statement, to set the tone for the whole album. It expresses confidence in what it has to say, and what better way to do that than to present it as a slabbing wall of sound.

2. Nyra:

(translation: Dives) Nyra, our lead single, explores the causality of loss and the suffocating nature of grief by delving deep within the haunting cycle of memories and unaccounted feelings. It brings forward what has remained unsaid and vows to seek answers, while uncertainty holds one down with a violent grip of guilt. The music for this song came first, and somehow we immediately knew what it should be about. This is probably the most ‘came out of nowhere’ song we’ve ever created.

3. Skepsis:

This one is about fooling yourself into believing that the decisions you’ve made were not up to you. It’s about enjoying the never-ending rut of proud self-destruction, where accepting stagnation is the only way of control that makes sense. This whole song sounds like it’s trying to fight itself, structurally almost falling out of control, but maintaining composure.

4. Ydos:

(translation: Vices) Our second single, YDOS, is about pushing against regret by desperately seeking comfort in past memories. It speaks about the weakness of facing the truth, shame, and the inability to impose judgment upon oneself. It is where self-doubt turns into a sickening stagnation, dreams of perversion, and a complete moral deterioration as regret slowly poisons the agency of the spirit. Sadly, this is a straight path to an utter hatred of self, gradually eating the last remaining spark of life that was eventually left behind somewhere along the way. By now, you probably have noticed that we like to structure our songs in parts; in this way, we try to create a more compelling and nuanced story.

5. TrukmÄ—:

(translation: Duration) This song explores the concept of entropy, as a universal idea that everything eventually moves from order to disorder, towards nothing. It's about the unforgiving nature of erosion, where every act of resistance is futile, yet seemingly meaningful, as everything we create will be lost in time, like tears in rain. The song, throughout, moves from order to disorder in the way the tone shifts, basically into another genre.

6. Svertas:

(translation: Lever) SVERTAS is about the intense moments of doubt right before pivotal decisions. The first part of the song asks questions about commitment, expectations, and fear, yet expresses a necessity for change and having the power to do so. The second part provides a calming sense of relief, where there is no way back, only acceptance, regardless of the outcome. The song structure directly refers to the two distinct phases that we describe in the song - the intensity of doubt followed by the slow fall into a final decision.

7. Raukšlės:

(Translation: Wrinkles), This is a song about creativity, fueled by life experiences, that becomes a destructive force if left unattained. Where every memory, scar, wrinkle carries a story that is meant to be told. It's about having the courage to say the things you were meant to say, despite the universal entropy heading towards nothing. We composed the song to have a certain drive, similar to what creative inspiration feels like.

8. Skleistis:

(translation: Unfold). The song is about the moment of final disillusionment. It's about moving past the stage of seeking help or empathy and landing in a state of cold clarity. It’s the realization that the future has run dry, and all that remains is the discomfort of existing in a body and mind that no longer believes in its own stories. The song has a hopeful tone at first, but unfolds into a breakdown and a tragic realization that ‘those things you wanted are never going to happen’.
