Behind The Scenes: Maps And Foils - Vacarme (Official Video)

Vacarme was the second song written for the album, next to the title track. Both form a diptych about losing ground with reality, with a dramatic ending. Vacarme was constructed around a drum loop with noisy guitars piled on until the song breaks.

 

The music video follows the same treatment: we filmed the main portrait shot with an old Panasonic camcorder. We then refilmed the screened version of the video about fifteen times until we got a very distorted picture. It was all about getting this grainy, unpleasant, self-destroying visual.
