Interviews: GREYLINE

On this new occasion, we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Metal/Nu-Metal band GREYLINE from Germany. Check out the interview and follow the band on their INSTAGRAM PROFILE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name? Did you plan it or came out just like that?

Our first inspirations for the band name were Treefall and Vainspire, but we eventually decided against them. After a long search, we came across the name GREYLINE in a text, and that ultimately became our final band name.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Since all of us are deeply connected to the metal scene and listen to all kinds of genres, we wanted to create music in that direction as well, but with our own unique style and sound.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Our vocalist and lead guitarist already knew each other because they had previously played together in another band. Later, our vocalist made a post on social media looking to start a new band, which is how he met our drummer and rhythm guitarist.

4. Each band member's favourite band?

Drummer Cristoph: Blink - 182 

Rhythm Guitarist Lukas: Deftones

Lead Guitarist Leo: Bloodhound Gang

Vocalist Tomi: BMTH

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of our inspiration comes from everyday life, but also from the thoughts and emotions constantly running through my mind.

6. Where was your last gig?

We haven’t played any live shows yet, but stay tuned. We’ve got something huge planned for 2027.

7. Where would you like to act?

I think playing a major festival like Novarock would be a dream come true for all of us.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are honestly too many artists we could name… but maybe Oli Sykes would be a great fit, or Landon Tewers

9. Whom not?

We’d rather keep that private for now.

10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tips for beginners on how to beat that?

We think those feelings are completely normal; you need that adrenaline rush. Over time and with experience, it gets easier, and eventually you start seeing it as one big band rehearsal. At the end of the day, we’re all just human.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are way too many influences to list, but Deftones, Basement, Bfmv, and Linkin Park have definitely had a huge impact on us.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

"My bra wants to have a child with you.” /"What fans? Bitch.”

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’ll probably only really find out after playing a few live shows. But we hope to build a fanbase that’s loyal, supportive, and genuinely connects with and understands our music.

14. What do you think of our site?

We want to give people an unforgettable live experience. We also want to keep our followers updated through our social media channels with exciting news, content, and behind-the-scenes moments.
