Interviews About Albums: Buio Dentro - Aurora (2026)

In this new interview, we sat down with the Italian Post-Hardcore band Buio Dentro to ask questions about their album, "Aurora".

1. What can you say about this new EP/CD?

Hi, we are Buio Dentro from Perugia, Italy. Aurora is our debut album, born from the desire to create music that cannot be confined to a single genre. While it is rooted in heavy sounds, it embraces a wide emotional and musical spectrum. Aurora is an unfiltered stream of consciousness made of heart and dust. Each song has its own identity and follows a fluid compositional path, yet together they form a cohesive work that aims to be both unique and universal.

2. What is the meaning of the EP/CD name?

Aurora means light, but also a beginning. We find it to be a beautiful image, though there is something unsettling about it as well. We believe it perfectly reflects the atmosphere of the album: bright and luminous on the surface, yet far from being a place of emotional comfort. It represents both hope and uncertainty, creation and transformation.

3. Who composed the CD/EP?

The identity of the band is built on a shared vision and collective creativity, and the album reflects that spirit. Aurora is fundamentally a collaborative work. It was written by the three of us, but it also carries the contribution of everyone involved in its creation, from the production team to the people who worked on the artwork. Every person who participated left a mark on the final result.

4. If you had to pick one song, which one would you pick?

Honestly, I wouldn't choose just one. When I think about the works I love the most, I think of them as complete journeys rather than collections of individual songs. We see Aurora in the same way. Experiencing the album as a whole is very important to us. We know this may go against the way music is often consumed today, but we believe it is the best way to enter the world of Buio Dentro and fully understand what we wanted to express.

5. Is there a special message in this EP/CD? If so, what is it?

I don't think there is a message in the strict sense of the word. Rather, there is a strong commitment to the idea of freedom: freedom from social expectations, musical conventions, and predefined patterns. We believe this attitude is reflected not only in the themes of the album, but also in the way the music itself was conceived and created.

6. Are there some lyrics that you'd love to share?

We would rather invite listeners to discover the lyrics within the context of the album itself. The words are deeply connected to the music and the emotional journey of each song, and we feel they reveal their full meaning when experienced as part of the whole work.

7. Which inspirations have been important for this album? Musically, or perhaps friends, family, or someone you'd like to thank?

The real inspiration behind this record is that all three of us felt a deep need to create it. That necessity was the driving force behind everything. We are passionate music listeners in the most visceral sense, and the countless artists and records we have absorbed over the years have certainly shaped our musical language. But even more important than any specific influence was the creative urgency that ultimately found its form in Aurora. We are also grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the process and helped bring this album to life.

8. Anything else you'd like to add?

We gave our very best to this record. We challenged ourselves, pushed beyond our limits, and tried to create something that genuinely represents who we are. Now Aurora has a life of its own. We hope it resonates with listeners, connects with them on a deep level, and leaves them with something meaningful.
